Over 50 years ago, a little TV store merged with the local music shop to become Vacaville Music & TV. Bill Carroll and his wife, Marge, soon became the sole proprietors of what was to become a booming business in downtown Vacaville. Being born and raised in Vacaville, even graduating from Vacaville High School, both Bill and Marge felt strongly commited to giving back to the community. Bill served many years in the political field, as mayor from 1972 through 1990 and then as Solano County Supervisor from 1990 through 2003. All the while, Bill and Marge worked together to provide the community with a store that took care of musicians from beginning to advanced levels. Still today, many people come in and reflect upon their first TV purchase or that first band instrument rental. And still today, while we no longer carry that home television, we still provide quality music products and seek to support our community.
Our commitment to the community over the years has never waivered. Our primary focus is making sure beginners young and old have quality instruments to learn on. Through our rental program , hundreds of students each year are able to learn and grow both in mind and body through the world of music. The most important goal for us is to be there for the player, young or old.
Musicians are not the only people who have benefitted from our presence in the community. With thousands of dollars being donated annually to the Vacaville Public Education Foundation (VPEF ) and other school affiliated programs, students are getting the supplies they need to excel in the classroom. With our long history, our community is very important to us. Making sure it thrives is simply part of our mission.
Marge Carroll, surviving her husband who passed away in 2003, is still very much involved in the day to day business here at Vacaville Music, assuring the same quality and commitment as in years past.
